What to look for in Protein Bars?
Check allergens (peanut, soy, tree nuts) before giving to a child with known sensitivities.
Check for protein whey, Isolates etc. Sometimes kids don't digest them well.
Check which binder holds the bar together — dates, syrup or nut butter — since that is what drives the sugar content.
"No refined sugar" bars can still be calorie-dense from dates or fruit sugars — fine as an energy snack, not a low-calorie one.
