Mallow and Neem in Sesame Oil

A herbal hair oil infusing mallow and neem into a sesame oil base, made by Adivasi women's collectives in central Kerala. The construction follows the traditional Indian hair oil method, where herbs are steeped or simmered into a carrier oil rather than blended with fragrance and silicone. Each part does something specific. Sesame is the classic Ayurvedic base oil for hair — reasonably light, stable against rancidity, and traditionally considered warming. Mallow is mucilaginous, meaning it contributes slip and softness. Neem is the functional ingredient, with real antifungal activity and a long record of use against dandruff and scalp irritation, which is precisely the sort of complaint hair oils are used for. Neem also smells strongly and characteristically bitter, which some people dislike; that smell is the ingredient working, not a fault. Assessed on clean-label first principles rather than FSSAI.
