Forest Post's balms are anhydrous — oil and wax based with no water phase — which is worth understanding because it changes the product fundamentally. Without water there is nothing for bacteria to grow in, so no preservative system is needed, which is how a small-batch maker can produce something genuinely additive-free. The trade-off is texture: these are firmer and richer than a lotion and need warming between the fingers. Grapefruit gives a bright citrus top note.
