Beeswax Soap

Handmade soap built around beeswax that tribal communities of the Nilgiris collect from forest hives — the same wild-harvesting tradition behind Aadhimalai's honey. The wax is filtered and melted in small batches, then scent-blended with a natural essence. Thirteen scents are produced: Jasmine, Lemongrass, Rose, Basil, Sandal and Eucalyptus appear on the brand's public site, while Aloevera, Cucumber, Kuppaimeni, Turmeric, Charcoal, Kadalaimaavu and Vettiver are confirmed by the supplier and appear on their official price list. Beeswax forms a breathable barrier that holds moisture without sealing skin the way petrolatum does. This is assessed on clean-label first principles rather than FSSAI, which governs food and has no authority over cosmetics — soap in India falls under BIS and the Cosmetic Rules instead. The gap that keeps this at Caution is specific and important: beeswax alone cannot saponify into soap, so there must be base oils and an alkali that the brand's copy never names.
