Byadagi Chilli Powder

Byadagi chillies ground into powder, from certified organic farms and steam-sterilised. Byadagi is the Karnataka variety grown for colour rather than heat — deep crimson, mild enough to use generously, and the reason many South Indian dishes look fiery while tasting restrained. Kashmiri chilli is the closest comparison. The important claim on this product is what is absent: no added colour. Red chilli powder is one of the most consistently adulterated products in the Indian market, with Sudan dyes, brick powder and other industrial colourants turning up in market samples often enough that FSSAI treats it as a standing enforcement priority — precisely because a brighter red sells better and powder hides everything.
